IRO

French brothers Laurent and Arik Bitton started their cool casualwear line, IRO, in 2004, fusing edgy street style with classic Parisian chic to create laid-back staples with a feminine feel. Star pieces include long-sleeved silk playsuits, graphic printed tunic dresses and boyish blazers.

2nd Day

2nd DAY’s unique design juxtaposes modern, individual international styles with inspiration from the colonial period in the Far East, vintage flea market treasures and the glamour of the twenties and thirties. Inspired by all sorts of classics and update, 2nd DAY reworks them with a distinct Scandinavian style.

Shine

Designed by the talented Babi Alimi, Shine epitomises the coveted Parisian aesthetic with ease. Taking inspiration from the 90’s grunge movement, the collection is awash with easy to wear separates and edgy prints. Stand-out styles include their tied at the waist tees, fringed knitwear and nonchalant denim. Wear with minimal accessories, tousled hair and a generous dose of attitude.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label A/W 12

One of our all time favourite designers, Vivienne Westwood, showed off her latest designs for her exquisite 'Red Label' this LFW and gave us all a preview to an incredibly British season ahead...

With checks, tartans and pinstripes abound, this AW12 collection was typical Westwood. Toning her ideas down slightly however, this season saw a more wearable aesthetic with the designer's signature corsetry and draping taking centre stage. Prints were clashed and paired with elegant headscarf's while asymmetric lapels turned cover-ups into statement pieces.

London Fashion Week: The STATS

Show season has been kicked off in spectacular fashion by New York, and now it's London's turn....

Showcasing A/W12 collections from some of the industry's biggest names, London Fashion Week is known for introducing fresh talent and unearthing the season's more eclectic trends. Starting today and running until Wednesday 22nd February, we are preparing ourselves for a tidal wave of new ideas from fashion's front line.

To start us off, let's look at some facts and figures for this season.....

This season will see 59 catwalk shows and 120 UK and International designers at the exhibition.

Vodaphone have been announced as the new principal sponsor of LFW from February

A new fine jewellery initiative has been launched this season, 'BFC Rock Vault', which will showcase 10 selected jewellers and their A/W12 collections.

BFC have introduced a 3rd showspace called 'The Embankment Gallery Showspace' and will host 11 designers this season.

New designers to London Fashion Week this season include Stella McCartney, McQ and Moschino Cheap + Chic.

This season marks the 10th Anniversary of Topshop sponsoring NEWGEN, London’s leading talent identification and showcase initiative

Over 5,000 visitors are expected at Somerset House.

While the snow may be falling in the real world, Spring has most definitely sprung in the fashion world! The new season is awash with sorbet shades and floral prints, all embracing a romantic and truly feminine aesthetic. One star who is pulling this trend off with particular panache, is the stunning Lana Del Rey.

Already set to be this year's next big thing in music, Lana Del Rey has inspired us with her husky vocals, haunting tunes and style. Our latest outfit crush has to be the pairing of a chic white knit with a pair of seriously on-trend floral jeans. New Brand: Equipment

Giving menswear style shirts a feminine edge, Equipment have both the industry and celebrities alike coveting their urban-luxe aesthetic. Originally launched in 1975 by Christian Restoin, Equipment was inspired by Hollywood stars such as Katherine Hepburn and Lauren Bacall who revelled in wearing mens shirts. The collection was an instant hit with the fashion world and a new way of dressing was revealed to the masses.

Re-launched in 2010 by Current/Elliott's Serge Azria, Equipment dazzled with a collection of androgynous styles in feminine prints and materials, catering to all types of women. Today the brand enjoys a cult following included some of Hollywood's most stylish stars.

In our 'Spotlight on' feature we aim to give you an in depth look at some of our favourite designers currently rocking the fashion world. To kick off we're going to look at Butter by Nadia, a label we have fallen head over heels for at Question Air.

Starting life in 2002, Butter by Nadia began with just one dress and one big idea. Nearly a decade later and the label is producing three stunning collections, 'Butter Basics', 'The Collectors Edition' and 'Signature Line' each created with every-woman in mind.

The label's signature dress is the wrap, the very first gown designed with limitless possibilities. The idea behind this design and most of Butter's subsequent creations is one of versatility. Each gown can be worn in multiple ways depending on how you tie and drape the dress. With no seams or hems and specially designed fabrics, these gowns are 'one-size-flatters-all' and are made to suit all body types.

Nadia Tarr the owner and designer of the label was a former dancer and self taught seamstress who has single handedly revolutionised the idea of dressing for a modern world. Normally a colour reserved for cooler months, next season sees red taking the fashion world by storm. Antonio Berardi and Giles both featured the colour heavily, offering a fresh take on this dramatic colour. This week at QA we've been obsessing over this season's hottest new jean designs. The days of deciding between blue or black, skinny or straight are long gone. Brands like Current/Elliott, J Brand, Goldsign and Mother are giving life to this staple item with bright hues and exotic prints. Animal printed denim is set to be huge, so look out for leopard and python designs and unleash your wild side! Bright colours feed off of the colour blocking trend, while deep berry shades offer a more versatile option. Don't limit yourself to denim either, cords are making a big come-back and jodhpur styles make for an edgy alternative to trousers.

First of all- Hello from Question Air's new blog home! We think we're going to be very happy over here on Blogger. Follow us for insider news, fashion inspiration and behind the scene's goings on at QA headquarters.

Our first blog is dedicated to the fabulous Nicole Scherzinger and her interpretation of the colour blocking trend. Colour was Summer's biggest fashion story and one that will transcend through to Autumn with ease. Not sure how to translate the trend? Simply take Autumn's favourite colours, (grey, burgundy, mustard, etc), and block them in the same way you did with brights over Summer. The look is a more muted take on last season's high-impact look.

Nicole tackles the trend in this stunning Nicole Miller Rouched Bandeaux Dress. Subtle grey and raspberry hues are stacked together in a classic silhouette, making for one breath-taking piece. Nude heels and minimal accessories ensure Nicole's dress takes centre stage.
